Hi all, apparently a post is being deleted with each new post, so we’re holding off on the updates for now. We’ll have everything back up once this is settled. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Cushing to Texans; Chargers on the clock

April 25th, 2009

Mike: Can we get half-credit here? Cushing and Matthews are almost identical.

DJ: Unfortunately not, but it’s good to see the Texans grab a versatile young backer. Chargers on the clock. Rey Maualuga fell to the late 20’s in many mock drafts, but I think he’s be great pick for San Diego. Is Ayers also a possibility here?

Mike: Ayers’ speed isn’t a perfect fit for a 3-4, but it could happen. Maclin’s fall could end within these next two picks also.

Jenkins to Saints; Texans on the clock

April 25th, 2009

Mike: Why did I ever doubt myself? Of course Jenkins is the pick in New Orleans!

DJ: The Crabtree/Orakpo falls killed our mock for a while, but it’s good to be back.

Mike: And don’t forget Matthews remains on the board for the Texans. We shall see.

Moreno to Broncos, Orakpo to Redskins

April 25th, 2009

Mike: We had the Broncos taking Knowshon at 18, so a bit of a reach. As for Orakpo to the Redskins, great value.

DJ: Jeremy Maclin’s fall continues. Malcolm Jenkins to the Saints?

Mike: Maybe, I don’t think it’s great value. Michael Oher and Robert Ayers also remain on the board.

Maybin to Bills; Bring on the Broncos

April 25th, 2009

DJ: The Bills went with Maybin over Orakpo, could the Longhorn go to the Broncos?

Mike: We had them going with Maybin our mock, but I don’t think many saw Orakpo falling his far. Orakpo should be the pick.

Crabtree’s slide ends; Bills on the clock

April 25th, 2009

DJ: Though it came later than we expected, Crabtree is off the board. Where do the Bills go here?

Mike: They should address the line, on either side of the ball.

DJ: Agreed. Orakpo’s a serious candidate, as is Aaron Maybin and Michael Oher. Stay tuned.

Raji a Packer, 49ers on the clock

April 25th, 2009

Mike: Way to be discrete with the celebration, huh?

DJ: Raji will be a perfect nose tackle– awesome pick. The bigger story is that Crabtree falls all the way to 10. Who saw that coming?

Mike: Orakpo too. It’s got to be one of the two here with San Fransisco on the clock.

Monroe to Jags; Pack on the clock.

April 25th, 2009

DJ: Monroe has gone to the Jaguars and we have our first question of the day!
“thepflash” asks: With the Jets trading into the top 5 to get their man, is there any chance the Patriots will respond by trading into the top 10?

DJ: Maybe. They still need a no. 2 receiver after losing Jabar Gaffney to the Broncos. If the Packers keep the pick, my money is on Raji or possible Orakpo.

Tackles still aplenty

April 25th, 2009

DJ: With the Jags on the clock with Crabtree avaialable to them, could they elect to go with Monroe? He would also provide tremendous value. On the other side of the ball, B.J. Raji has yet to be selected. Michael Oher should also go in the next 5-7 picks, so don’t go anywhere.

Raiders select Heyward-Bey. Worst pick since Troy Williamson

April 25th, 2009

DJ: Worst pick since Troy Williamson.

Mike: Worst pick since Troy Williamson.

DJ: Worst pick since Troy Williamson.

Mike: I completely disagree with this pick, this has Al Davis written all over it.

DJ: Absolutely, you can’t neglect all other skills for the sake of speed.

Mike: Crabtree is a much more polished receiver, and Heyward-Bey is a tremendous reach right here. The team should have looked in other directions if they were going to overdraft a wide receiver.

DJ: Well, the Jaguars should be pretty pleased. Crabtree at 8? V-A-L-U-E.
